The cost will be $50.00, as there will be 36 point counting races. All teams and monies will have to be in by February 19, 2012. No team will be accepted without payment, no exceptions. It will be first come first serve. You can submit your drivers later, by the Daytona 500, February 26, 2012.
I will only accept 30 teams, this keeps the competition closer. I don't want to disappoint anyone, so don't wait to last minute to join.
All the teams drivers are listed on the Teams page, also you will be able to keep track of how many changes each team has left during the season.
You will choose 1 driver from each driver group, from the Drivers Page. Giving you a total of 6 drivers.
The rules are very simple, you will receive the same amount of points that your driver receives each race after Nascar has posted the official results, usually monday night after the race. This means that if the car is in the race but not the driver you have chosen, your total points for that race would be zero ( 0 ) unless he would start the race and do at least 1 lap. You are choosing drivers not cars. There are no exceptions for drivers loosing there ride, out with an injury, or as we experienced in the past with the death of a driver, it is still considered a change.
There will be a bonus of 5 points for the highest finishing team per point race, second highest finishing team receives 3 bonus points, and lastly third highest finishing team would receive 1 bonus points, if there is a tie, then all tied teams would receive the same bonus points, but only 3 teams will receive bonus points.
If your driver wins the Nascar Sprint Cup Championship, you will receive a bonus 20 points to your total for the year and 10 bonus points if your driver wins the ROTY. You must have 1 of these championship drivers on your team for the Homestead Race ( race 36 ) to receive the bonus points.
As per the sign up page, you will be picking six drivers, one driver from each group. Everyone will be able to make 10 driver changes (6 changes first 26 races, 4 changes in the chase ) during the season. If you want or need to make more driver changes than 10 (6 and 4), you will be able to make additional changes at a cost of 20 points per change, that would come off your total points for that race. All driver changes must be made from the original group that you chose your driver from. Driver changes must be made 1 hour before the Nascar advertised start time of the race, this information is posted on the home page bottom left column, any changes made after that time will count for the next race.
You will be able to make any driver changes you want by 12:00 pm est ( 1 hour before Nascar's advertised start time) Daytona 500 ( Feb 26, 2012 ) and theses changes will not be charged against your 10 free changes. After that it will be back to business as usual. You will have to send all driver changes in by using the Driver Change Page. Driver changes will not be accepted any other way.
This year we will have twist to the pole points. If your driver earns the pole you will receive 3 bonus points, now if your driver starts 2nd. you will receive 2 bonus points, and 3rd. starting place you will receive 1 bonus point. Also if pole qualifing is set by nascar points (rained out), there will be no pole bonus points awarded. The Goodys Pole Award will be for the hightest pole points not the number of poles. Also this year if you are in the top ten and you are already winning a prize, you will not be eligable for the pole prize. This way more teams have a change to win.
The team with the most points at the end of the season ( 36 point events ) wins first place and so forth down the line. first to tenth place will win money, also the goodys headache award ( highest pole points), and the half way winner.
